Make them take your stunning photos heartfully.

You’re in a beautiful location, the lighting is perfect for an Instagram Pic.

Next to you is your close friend, but somehow you feel uneasy/embarassed to ask them, to take a snap of yours.

Relatable?

If you’re answer is yes.

Then

a) You’re not alone.

b) I’ve got a solution for you.

You will never feel shy or embarassed to ask them again.

It’s a simple trick but it’s also powerful enough to make your average friends take nice photos of yours willingly. Kinda like practical persuasion.

Here’s the trick, to make your friends take good photos willingly

  1. Take out your phone
  2. Take some good candids of the friend next to you. (This will be the sample/example for the shot you expect from them).
  3. Show them the photo, give them your honest praise. (Everyone loves getting praise for who they are naturally).
  4. The stage is set, they are now unconsciously dying to repay your debt and the simple way they could do is by taking some good photos of yours. Give them your phone with the camera on, they will gladly take your photos (as many as you want). This is also called Reciprocation Bias.

Reciprocation Bias: If someone does us a favor, we feel like we owe them, and will often go to great lengths to repay the debt that’s owed as quickly as possible. If someone does us disfavor, we often feel like we need to “get back at them” for the injustice we feel we have suffered.

Bias is like a built-in system for all humans. It can be exploited, but it can also be used for healthy purposes. To leave a spark where ever you go.

Pro-tip for Better candids :

Shoot in Live Photo mode. This feature is available on both iPhone and Android devices. It captures 10-15 shots for one click. Like a burst mode. Best for natural candids (unlike the ones you pose 2-3 seconds for). Explained in this video.

On hoping this will help build your Visual Legacy…
